Practices
Ravi's Runners focusses specifically on middle distance running. This group is for more serious runners age 12 and up who want to train at least 3 times a week. Practice times vary so please contact the club for more information
Other Groups are focussing on conditioning and cross country running during the winter months.

What we do
Peninsula Track & Field Club provides an opportunity for athletes from the Saanich Peninsula to participate in the sports of track and field and cross country running.
The club’s emphasis is on personal development by athletes at all levels of ability. We encourage participation in club activities by athletes of all ages, 6 years and older
We offer coaching in all areas of track and field except for pole vault and steeplechase

REPLACING THE PARKLAND TRACK.
Peninsula Track has started a drive to replace the track with an up-to-date out door sports facility to serve the Saanich Peninsula.

July 1 : Sidney Days 5km Family Run/Walk and 2km Youth Run - Sidney
A cool day with little wind. Perfect for running the 5km. About 200 persons ran and about 2 dozen walked in the parade afterwards. Many thanks to all the volunteers who helped set up and run the race and the after race activities. RESULTS

5 Pen Track Athletes made the trek to Port Alberni to compete. The weather was reasonably sunny. 5 Peb Track volunteers ran the long jump cometition assited on occasion by volunteers from the Campbell River Comets and parents hauled in from the sidelines. Results

April 4 and 27 : Pen Track Rascals Program - North Saanich
21 young athletes, 6 to 8 years old survived dull and grey weather, twice a week for four weeks, to experience running, jumping and throwing in various forms. Many thanks to Lesley Foster, Florence Dingle, Katherine Walter, Jenny Sammons and Scott Hoadley for helping out at most of the sessions. Certificates and T-shirts were handed out on the last day.

245 athletes from up and down Vancouver Island competed at the first meet of the 2011 Island Track Series. Amongst them were 40 athletes from Pen Track. The weather was fine and the competition great, with younger athletes having the opportunity to compete in some new track events (600m, 1000m, 300m, 1200m, 2000m, 4x50 and 4x200 relays) for the first time. Jan 28-29 : BC ATHLETICS A.G.M. - Richmond
Tom and Florence Dingle and Dan Daniels attended as delegates from Peninsula Track. Tom was re-elected to the BC Athletics Board of Directors as Director of Programs and Technical Development. Full details of the AGM are given at BC ATHLETICS A.G.M. At the Awards Banquet Dan Daniels was inducted into the BC Athletics Hall of Fame and Tom Dingle was named the 2010 Executive of the Year. Diana Hollefreund, from Vic Track, received the Jane Swan Award. Full details of the Awards Banquet are given in the Awards Banquet Program (see in particular page 9 and 10)
