January 22, 2013 : Pen Track Annual General Meeting - Green Glades Center
After the usual reports, discussion revolved around who was going to run the meets that Pen Track usually hosts. Chris Lott expressed concerns about safety issues in connection with the Sidney Days race on July 1. Tom And Florence Dingle stated that others would have to step up and take over many of the activities they have been doing with running the George Dean meet and the Pentathlon meet. IT WAS DECIDED THAT IF NO ONE STEPPED FORWARD THEN PEN TRACK WOULD NO LONGER HOST THOSE MEETS. This would be unfortunate as it would mean that the club would lose it's main source of revenue and our athletes would have fewer meets to go to, particularly in the local area. This is doubly unfortunate since the JD Track and Field Championships are being held in Nanaimo this year and the BC Summer Games for 2014 are being held in Nanaimo next year.
