About

​We are seeking philanthropic partnerships to create a high jump area and resurface the long jump run ups. ​

​The Club is fortunate to call Parkland Secondary’s new track our home base. Our athletes need proper track and field facilities so they can safely and effectively practice a variety of events.​

This project directly addresses our two most urgent needs:

1. ​A dedicated High Jump/Multi-Use Area

2. Resurfacing the Long Jump Runways​

The project estimate is $124,000 - $170,000. We have saved $30,000 and are now actively seeking community sponsorships and in-kind contributions to bridge the remaining gap and bring these vital projects to life.

Why this project is needed

High jump and long jump are key disciplines in track and field—requiring safe, quality surfaces both for performance and injury-prevention.

We currently do not have a high jump area (we set up on the track, which does not provide a sufficient run-up area and impacts those using the track.) and the long jump area is deteriorated to the point of being a safety issue.​

Upgrading to a proper paved base plus a rubberized surface will:

• Improve athlete safety (reducing risk of slips, uneven ground)

• Enable better training and competition for our full age range

• Increase the club’s capacity to host meets

• Strengthen our community amenity for other user groups
