Fees
Registration will be next Tuesday 2nd April at the track at 5-6 pm.
The first practice for 9-12 year olds will be on Thursday 4th from 5:30-7:00pm.
We are hoping to run the Track Rascals in May this year. The weather in April has been poor for the last couple of years so we’re moving it one month later. We have one coach confirmed for the rascals and need at least one more. So if you know of anyone please get in touch.
One major change for this year is that we’re asking each athlete to pay the meet entry fees of any meet they compete in. The registration form is available on this website (see below). If you’re coming to registration please bring the form with you and make sure it is signed by both the athlete and parent/Guardian.
Fees for the Peninsula Track Club consist of two parts, Club Fees and Fees for BC Athletics, the provincial governing body of Athletics.
Club Fees help cover the cost of club equipment, club rental of facilities, etc. Since Peninsula Track is a volunteer organization, parents and older athletes are REQUIRED to help out at the club's activities. This consists of officiating (mainly at the long jump) at the Island series meets and helping organize and run other activities that may arise during the year.
BC Athletics Fees give membership in BC Athletics which includes extensive insurance for all members while participating in all club and meet activities. In addition, BC Athletics is responsible for the organization of athletics at the provincial level and through Athletics Canada is involved with the sport at the national level, providing opportunities for our athletes to compete provincially, nationally and internationally.
In case of financial difficulty, athletes may be able to get some funding from Kidsport Canada to cover the cost of participating. In the event that an athlete withdraws from the club, the Kidsport grant is returned to Kidsport, not the athlete.
