To Qualify for Island Series Awards athletes must satisfy the following criteria
Compete in 4 of the 7 Island Series meets (which this year includes the BC Junior Development Championships).
One meet must be the Alberni, Courtenay or the BCJD Championship meet.
The VIAA Pentathlon/Weight Pentathlon is counted as one meet.
For Best of Four awards total points of four best performances from four different meets.
For Run, Jump Throw awards total points of best Run, best Jump and best Throw during series.
The points totals are calculated as follows: There will be a performance points table for each event and age group, some points for placing and 10 points for competing. Points will also be assigned for placing in Official Relays run for Top Ten placings.
