PLEASE NOTE: The weight pentathlon will start at 10:00 am .
List of weights (.htm) or (.doc file)
NOTE FOR ELITE THROWERS IN THE HAMMER AND DISCUS: We have modified our throwing cage so that the left hand 1/2 of the landing sector goes out for more than 85 meters. Then a hilly , bushy area begins to encroach on the landing area so that down the right hand line there is clearance out to only 55 meters. In the right hand far end of the sector implements disappear into the bushy area making it impossible to measure accurately even if we can find the hammer or discus. Therefore, if you want a measured distance over 55 meters you will have to make sure your implement lands down the left hand 1/2 of the sector.

Peninsula Track feels that athletes on Vancouver Island have little opportunity to participate in a Weight Pentathlon competition. A weight Pentathlon consists of shotput, discus, hammer, javelin and weight throw. Therefore, we are hosting a weight pentathlon meet at Sidney to give them a chance to experience such an event. Since hammer and weight throws are limited to athletes 14 and older, athletes born in 1995 or later will not be allowed to participate. Results in individual events from this meet will count towards the Vancouver Island Series awards and the meet also counts as one the four necessary to be eligible for Island Series awards as long as one of the other meets is the Nanaimo, Courtenay or Alberni Meet.
