Zone 6 Team Selection: A selection meeting
will be held in the upstairs meeting room in the Club House immediately
following the final event on Sunday. All
interested coaches and parents are invited to attend.

This is a sticker meet for JD 9 to 13 years and Youth and
Open athletes. Stickers (9/16ths X 3” only please) are mandatory. Please have a sticker for each event for each
athlete with athlete’s name, year of birth, Island Series Hy-Tek number and
club abbreviation. Pre-registration is not
needed for the athletes listed above.
Cheques are payable to Nanaimo Track & Field Club.
Meet Fees: Unlimited entry to events. Two days - $20.00; Single Day - $15.00
All competitors MUST be BC Athletics members (club, school
or individual
membership). For midget athletes born in 1995 &
1996, see attached registration form.
Athletes who are not members of BC Athletics will be charged
$3.00 per weekend to provide Day of Event membership.
Coaches Meeting: Saturday, May 22nd –

attached schedule for event times. Start
times listed are approximate and events may be moved up to 1/2 hour before listed time
so please listen for announcements.
Events: Field Events are limited to 3 attempts
only for JD 9 to 13 age groups. For 1996
and older, 8 finalists in the combined group will get 3 additional attempts.
Track Events will be run in the following order Midget
Pentathlon, Midget Individual, Wheel Chair and then oldest to youngest, girls
first then boys.
All track events will be Timed Finals except Midgets, where
there will be heats and finals for the 100m, 200m and sprint hurdles. Only
athletes from Zone 6 will compete in “A” finals.
All Midget athletes who wish to qualify in the Pentathlon
will compete in the 5 scheduled events and points will be calculated
accordingly.
Electronic Timing: Provided by BC Athletic officials.
Officials: This is a Vancouver
Island Series meet and is sanctioned by BC Athletics. Club officiating assignments have already
been set. If a Club has difficulty meeting their assignment or will not be in
attendance, please contact the Meet Director well ahead of the meet to make
alternate arrangements.
Age Categories: All athletes (9 to 13) will compete by year
of birth. Combined categories are Midget (14 & 15), Youth (16 & 17),
Junior (18 & 19), Senior (20 to 34), Master (35 and older). Ages are at

IMPORTANT NOTE
All athletes wishing to try out for the BC
Summer Games team must pre-register and pay their registration fees when the
pick up their meet package. Please check out the Summer Games information below
for complete registration information and the BC Summer Games.
Only midget athletes born in 1995 and 1996 are eligible to
compete in the BC Summer Games. There
are no exceptions.
All athletes wishing to be on the Zone 6 team must attend
the zone trials meet or they will not be considered for selection.
Athletes wishing to try out for the Zone 6 team in Athletics must fill out and
submit a Zone 6 Summer Games Information
Form. This form can be handed in on registration or during the day on Saturday,
May 23rd. All BC Summer Games and BC Athletics fees must accompany
the form.
Athletes competing in
the Zone 6 Trials must preregister for this meet. Please complete the Nanaimo
Track and Field Club Zone 6 Trials registration form which is attached.
