245 athletes from up and down Vancouver Island competed at the first meet of the 2011 Island Track Series. Amongs them were 40 athletes from Pen Track. The weather was fine and the competition great, with younger athletes having the opportunity to compete in some new track events (600m, 1000m, 300m, 1200m, 2000m, 4x50 and 4x200 relays) for the first time. Many thanks to all the volunteers (both Pen Track and others) who helped make the meet such a success.

2010 VIAA CLUB OFFICIATING ASSIGNMENTS As discussed at the VIAA meeting in February each club has been assigned certain officiating duties.  It was decided that each club would have available at ALL times a person to run their event plus at least two volunteers from their club to help.  Extra bodies if needed can be pulled in from the spectators. Please make sure that your officiating crew is in place in advance of the event.  If for some reason or other your club cannot fulfill its officiating duties at a meet, please let host club know ASAP so they can make alternate arrangements.
