QUERIES

TOM DINGLE as above

Notes:

1) This schedule is similar to the one used at the George Dean Meet in 2007.   At the BC Athletics AGM in 2006 the following events were added: 60m for 1997, 1998 and 1999 athletes and the following events were dropped: 200m, 400m and medley relays for 1998 and 1999 athletes and the 200m hurdles for the 1997 athletes.  I have replaced the 200m races for the younger groups with the 60m.

2) Much of the scheduling is required by the physical layout of the facilities at the Parkland Track.  The timing is based on the number of athletes in each event at the early sticker meets in 2007 . Although the 15 year olds (1993) have been moved to a new group called Midget 15, the specifications for all single events are still the same so they will compete with the 1994 athletes.

3)  Hammer and Discus Events are all held in throwing cage.

4)  The run up to the Javelin crosses the track at the 300m mark and also runs close to the high jump pits.  I have tried to schedule the events to minimize any conflict.

5)  We have only one regular high jump pit.  I have tried to schedule all the high jump events on one pit with the younger athletes scheduled close together.  If there is a time problem, a second pit can be created for these younger athletes by using the two mats separately.

6)  I have tried to schedule the shot put events on one circle but there is second circle that can be used if there is a time problem.

7)  We will use one end of the runway for the long jump and the other end  for the triple jump.  The runway on our separate triple jump pit has become too dangerous for competition.  However, some of the long jump events had to be scheduled on the triple jump pit  end of the long jump pit.

8) Relays:  BC Athletics now  includes results for relays in the Top Ten Record Book.  The regulations specify that teams must be from the same club and must be of the same gender and one of three age categories (1994/1995; 1996/1997;1998/1999) for the 4x100m and (1994/1995; 1996/1997) for the medley relays .  I have scheduled the 4x100 relays on Sunday afternoon as the medley were run on April 20.  Fun relays of will be run after or with the above. For the Island awards Midget15/Juvenile (1993/1992/1991) and junior (1990/1989) categories also exist.

9)  The rubberized surface on the track is old and thin.  This may cause some problems for those runners using spikes so they may want to use running shoes.  They can view this meet as a warm up to the rest of the season.
