BC COMBINED EVENTS CHAMPIONSHIPS

Entries:   $20 per combined event

Please include the athletes name, BC Athletics card number, age group, event and contact numbers for all entries.   Numbers will be issued upon receipt of the entry fees, the morning of Saturday, July 1st, 2006.

DAY 1 – July 1ST

·        DECATHLON (Day 1)– Junior and Senior Men

·        OCTATHLON (Day 1)– Juvenile Men

·        HEPTATHLON (Day 1)– Juvenile, Junior and Senior Women

 

DAY 2 – July 2nd

·        DECATHLON (Day 2)– Junior and Senior Men

·        OCTATHLON (Day 2)– Juvenile Men

·        HEPTATHLON (Day 2)– Juvenile, Junior and Senior Women

 

AGE GROUPS: (As of December 31st, 2006)

·        Juvenile – Ages 16 and 17

·        Junior – Ages 18 and 19

·        Senior – Ages 20 and older

 

SCORING:

·        The Decathlon, Octathlon, Heptathlon and Pentathlon will be scored on the IAAF Combined Events Scoring Table.

 

AWARDS:  Individual - Medals for BC Championship events

Implement Weigh-ins:   From 10:15am to 11:15am on Saturday and from 9:00am to 10:00am on Sunday at the equipment room under the stands.

 

Directions:   From Departure Bay ferry terminal:  Head straight out of the ferry terminal heading south towards downtown Nanaimo.  The road will merge with the old Island highway.  Turn right onto Comox Road.  Follow Comox Road uphill and it will turn into Bowen Road.  Continue to Wakesiah Avenue and turn left.  Follow Wakesiah to the Nanaimo and District Secondary School and turn into the driveway just past the entrance to the school.  The track will be straight ahead.  Please obey parking regulations.

 

            From south Vancouver Island:   Follow the Island Highway to bypass Nanaimo and turn right off the highway at the Malaspina College turnoff .  Go down the hill to Wakesiah Avenue and turn left.  Go a short way down Wakesiah and turn left into the NDSS parking lot.  The track is straight ahead.  Please obey the parking regulations.
