May 3 and 4: Bob Dailey Memorial Meet -- Port Alberni

22 Pen Track athletes made the trek to Port Alberni for 2 days of competition in very nice weather. Results and Photos will be posted when available.

April 3 to 29: Track Rascals Program -- Parkland School

The Track Rascal program for 2008 had 40 young athletes, aged 6 to 8 years old, running, jumping and throwing twice a week under the direction of head coach Dan Daniels, assisted by Tom Dingle and Mette Fossberg and a number of athlete and parent helpers. In spite of the rather cool and wet weather, everyone had a great time, finishing off with a certificate, T-shirt, cookies and a drink on the last day. Thanks to all those who made it such a success.

April 19 and 20: George Dean Memorial Track Meet -- Parkland School

Due to the snowstorm early Saturday morning we were forced to cancel all Saturday's events as the condition of the track and weather conditions made it too dangerous to hold any events. Fortunately Sunday turned out sunny with only a slight wind so we had a great day of events. The club is looking into the possibility of having the cancelled events from Saturday on Saturday, May 24, the day before we host the VIAA Pentathlon. Results -- Photos

April 3: Sprints Seminar -- Victoria

Three Pen Track Coaches: Nadja Steiner, Jack Thornburgh and Mike MacEwan attended the seminar.

March 17 to 20: Spring Break Training Camp -- Courtenay

Three Pen Track Athletes: Halley Cote, Grace Morgan and Dustin Sapala attended this camp designed for Summer Games age athletes. Further Details

March 8: Level 2 Officiating Clinic -- Nanaimo

One Pen Track member, Mike MacEwan, attended this clinic.

March 1 and 2: Part A Technical Coaching Clinic -- Port Alberni

Three Pen Track Coaches: Mette Fosberg, Jack Thornburgh and Mike MacEwan attended the clinic.

January 25-27: BC Athletics Annual General Meeting -- Vancouver

3 club members attended the AGM. It is worthwhile to read some or all of the reports made at the meeting. Minutes of the AGM and the results of votes on the resolutions will be posted on the BC Athletics site in the near future. Full details of Meeting

January 16: Final Results for Island Cross Country Series

6 club members got Island Series Awards by running in at least 4 series races. Peninsula Track came third in the series. Complete Results
