Throws Clinic #4 -- Sprint/Hurdles Clinic #2

Forty plus athletes! and 10 plus Coaches in attendance. Cloudy in the morning butt nice when the sun came out. Chile, buns, hot chocolate, etc. prepared by Christine Morfitt. Many thanks to Tony Dickson, John May, John Root (Peninsula) and all the other Comox Valley Cougars who did such a great job in organizing and running this clinic.

Schedule:

1) Warmup exercises done by the athletes in attendance (30 min) with coaches observing and discussing

2) Split into several groups for sessions before and after lunch:

  • a) Discus and Hammer (John Root)
  • b) Sprints and Hurdles (Tony Dickson, John May)
  • c) Javelin (Graham Morfitt)
  • all with asssistance from some senior athletes

3) Lunch followed by talk on recovery techniques and keeping healthy(45 min).

5) Some warm down exercises (torture session)
