Comox Valley Cougars Spring Training Camp
Four Pen Track athletes
attended the Comox Valley Cougars Spring Training Camp, had a great time and
worked hard. Athletes 13 and older were
invited to the Track and Field Camp at the Vanier Track the Friday and Saturday
of Easter weekend. They worked in event
specific groups throughout the day and participated in a combination of
strength, technical and conditioning drills and activities. Danielle Delage, Dustin Sapala, Grace Morgan
and Halley Côté drove up to Comox bright and early to make it to the track by 10am. They got in 3-4 tough but extremely
beneficial workouts over the two-day camp from John May, Graham Morfitt and a
couple other great coaches. Athletes got
to do 4 event specific technical workouts, two strength workouts and also a
weight room workout. All in all the camp
was exceptionally successful and all the athletes had a blast.

Day 2:
The second day of the camp
was similar to the first, with different time slots as it started earlier and
ended earlier in order for athletes to drive home the same day. However, there was a Technical 3, which was
in the weight room at the Comox Recreation Centre across the parking lot from
the track. John May and Graham Morfitt
gave the athletes some new exercises to do and some helpful hints. With Graham showing everyone up on the
abdominal roll outs!
