Aug 15 and 16: US Masters Combined Event Championships - Seattle

Sandy Anderson and Anne Murfitt both competed in the Decathlon for the first time. This is an unusual event for women competitors. Results for Pen Athletes

Aug 9 and 10: Canadian Youth Championships - Sherbrooke, Quebec

3 Pen Track Athletes made the trek east to compete against the rest of the country . Results for Pen Athletes

July 28-Aug 8: World Masters Track and Field Championships - Lahti, Finland

3 Pen Track Athletes competed with Dan Daniels winning a bronze medal in the decathlon . Results for Pen Athletes

July 24-26: BC Junior Development Track and Field Championships - South Surrey

9 Pen Track Athletes brought home 4 golds, 5 silvers and a bronze . Results for Pen Athletes

July 18: BC Junior Development Pentathlon Championships - Coquitlam

July 17-19: Canadian Masters Championships - Kamloops

5 Peninsula Athletes competed. Sandy Anderson broke a Canadian Record ffor her age group in the Hammer. Results for Pen Athletes

July 10-12: BC Midget 15, Youth, Junior and Senior Championships - Abbotsford

10 Peninsula Athletes competed with 3 firsts, 4 seconds and one third. Grace Morgan chosen as an alternate to the BC Team to the Legion Camp. Results for Pen Athletes

July 1: Canada Day Fun Run - Sidney

June 17 and 18: Comox Valley Meet - Courtenay

25 Pen Track Athletes competed on a wet Saturday and a beautiful Sunday. RESULTS. Photos will be posted later

April 2 to 30: Peninsula Track Rascals Program - Parkland School Track

Twenty nine 6 to 8 year olds were registered in the program and had a great time. Many thanks to Lesley Foster, Jack Thornburgh and Florence and Tom Dingle who ran the program. Details and PHOTOS

March 23: Level 2 Officials Clinic -- Nanaimo

Three Pen Track parents attended the clinic and are well on the way to getting their level 2 officials accreditation

February 28: VIAA Spring Meeting - Nanaimo

Tom Dingle Attended on behalf of Pen Track. Schedule for the 2009 Island Track and Field Series was finalized. Minutes of Meeting

January 30 and 31 and February 1: BC Athletics Annual General Meeting -- Richmond

Peninsula Track Club sent 3 delegates, Tom and Florence Dingle and Dan Daniels. Besides the reports from the various parts of BC Athletics there were sessions dealing with the introduction of the Long Term Athlete Development program into athletics in BC. There was also a presentation of an on-line program for clubs and individuals to get criminal background checks on coaches and other adults dealing with underage athletes. Full details of the AGM are posted at the BC Athletics web site.

January 18: Dan Daniels 80th birthday party - North Saanich

Peninsula Track Club members, present and past, gathered at Lesley Foster's house to wish Dan a very happy 80th birthday. This means he has lower hurdles and lighter implements when he competes. Photos

January 15: Pen Track AGM -- Greenglades Community Center, Sidney

Details -- Minutes and other information will be posted when available. Major change was the instituion of a track replacement fee of $50.00 per year per family.

January 11: Presentation at Sidney Health Fair - Mary Winspear Center

30 Pen Track members put on a 25 minute presentation of the club's activities at the Sidney Health Fair. Photos will be posted when available.
