Peninsula Track and Field Club -- Trophies

The general criteria for all the trophies are:

• participation in the club activities (practices, meets, etc)
• very good performances for their level of training
• a pleasant, helpful and cooperative manner
• positive response to coaching
• support of other athletes at practices and meets
• a general enthusiasm for all the activities.

Inspirational Athlete : given to those member(s) who performed at high level during the year and had exceptional performances.

The Fiona Clarke Sportsmanship Awards (one each for male and female): given to those athletes that exhibited very good dedication, performance and sportsmanship during the year.

The Outstanding Novice Award (one trophy only): Given to those athletes who are in their first full year as a club athlete and who have had outstanding performances.

The Dan Daniels Masters Award (one trophy): Given to those club athletes who are masters (40+) athletes and who have had outstanding performances.

Runner, Jumper and Thrower of the Year (one trophy for each category) Given to those club athletes who have practiced in and competed in THREE areas of the category and who have done exceptionally well in one or more of them.

Keepers are given to each athlete when the award is given. General consensus is that the younger athletes prefer a small trophy as opposed to a plaque. Therefore small trophies were given from 1996 onwards.
