Sept 6 to 17: Paralympic Games - Beijing, China
Pen Track Coach, Danny Daniels, is Chef de Mission for the Canadian Paralympic Team in Athletics which will be competing in Beijing during the next two weeks.

Aug 6 to 12: Royal Canadian Legion Youth Championships - Sherbrooke, Quebec
Dustin Sapala from Pen Track was part of the BC Team to this event. He came fourth in the 100m hurdles and 300m hurdles races in the U15 competition. Well done Dustin!

July 24 to 27: BC Summer Games - Kelowna
Pen Track had 7 athletes competing as part of the Zone 6 team. Our athletes garnered one gold medal, two silver medals, two bronze medals, three 4th's, one 5th, one 6th, two 7ths and one 8th which means they made the finals in all events. Congratulations to them all. Complete Results for the Games. Also many thanks to Thomas Riekki who did a superb job as one of the Zone 6 team coaches at the games. Finally many thanks to all the club coaches who contributed so much to the success of our athletes.

July 11 to 13: BC Juvenile and Midget15 Championships - Kamloops
Very hot weather. Three Pen Track athletes made the trek north. Results for Pen Track Athletes.
DUSTIN SAPALA was selected to the BC Team going to the Legion Camp and Competition being held in Sherbrooke in early August. He will be competing in the 100m hurdles and 300m hurdles.

June 28 and 29: Comox Valley Cougars Meet -- Courtenay
14 Pen Track athletes competed in beautiful, but hot, weather. 8 remained to participate in the Zone 6 team camp for Summer Games athletes. Results and Photo will be posted shortly.

June 23: Zone 6 team members for the BC Summer Games
Peninsula Track has seven athletes and one coach going as part of the Zone 6 team to the 2008 BC Summer Games in Kelowna.

May 30: BC High School Championships -- Vancouver
Pen Track athletes Dustin Sapala got a gold medal in the 100m Hurdles and Halley Cote got a silver medal in the 3000m

April 3 to 29: Track Rascals Program -- Parkland School
The Track Rascal program for 2008 had 40 young athletes, aged 6 to 8 years old, running, jumping and throwing twice a week under the direction of head coach Dan Daniels, assisted by Tom Dingle and Mette Fossberg and a number of athlete and parent helpers. In spite of the rather cool and wet weather, everyone had a great time, finishing off with a certificate, T-shirt, cookies and a drink on the last day. Thanks to all those who made it such a success. April 19 and 20: George Dean Memorial Track Meet -- Parkland School
Due to the snowstorm early Saturday morning we were forced to cancel all Saturday's events as the condition of the track and weather conditions made it too dangerous to hold any events. Fortunately Sunday turned out sunny with only a slight wind so we had a great day of events. The club is looking into the possibility of having the cancelled events from Saturday on Saturday, May 24, the day before we host the VIAA Pentathlon. Results -- Photos
